Today there was a sub and we had a Newsela assignment on canvas. In class I learned about the Great Turtle Origin myth story. The story is about this tribe that digs a hole into the ground and the chief's daughter falls through only to be saved by animals due to her beauty. They took the girl to their leader, a giant turtle, and he decided to make an island for her by placing dirt on his back. I liked the lesson because it was intriguing to learn about the stories the Native Americans created. Today I felt good and had a decent day at school.

      Today in class we learned a useful brainstorming idea to make finding talking points for essays easier. We simply pick out our main topic and find sub-topics within that topic to branch out from. From there we use the sub-topics to find even more things to write about. This method is really useful for planning out essays. I will use this method in the future to help write my own essays. I learned a useful thing in class that I will make sure to utilize in the future.

Something I have too much of

           I have too much free time. I often have nothing to do most days. I don't go out nearly as much as I used to and I no longer work. I've applied to a few jobs but so far I haven't gotten a response. I could be doing my school work but I have a hard time focusing at home so I usually just sleep. Most of my free time is actually spent sleeping which is why I'm always up late at night.

Someone I forgot

 In the 6th grade I had a friend named Ruben. We were very close at the time. However, Ruben did not return to my middle school the next year. I had no way of getting in contact with him because his parents were very strict with Ruben and did not allow him on social media. I often find myself forgetting about him entirely. None of my middle school friends know what happened to him but I hope he's doing well.
