Something I can't stop thinking about.

         I can't stop thinking about what I am going to do once highschool is over. I haven't really decided on anything. I keep thinking that If I don't come to a solution soon and work towards it, by the time I graduate and find something I want to pursue, it'll be too late. I am leaning more towards attending college, but my GPA isn't doing well so I am doubtful I will get into a good college. I'm sure everything will work out though.

Today in class we listened to "A Lesson Before Dying" chapters 2, 3, and 4.

I learned about the importance of being well-educated and dying with dignity. I will use what I learned to become a better man.

 In the 6th grade I had a friend named Ruben. We were very close at the time. However, Ruben did not return to my middle school the next year. I had no way of getting in contact with him because his parents were very strict with Ruben and did not allow him on social media. I often find myself forgetting about him entirely. A conversation that changed me.

         I've always tried copying whatever my older brother did. It's because I looked up to him. I copied his entire personality including bad traits. He wasn't attentive in class and regularly skipped school and I began to do the same. After an argument with my mom about my grades, my brother wanted to talk. He explained to me that he wanted what was best for me and that it was in my best interest to get everything together. In class today we worked on a vocabulary assignment. I learned new vocabulary words. It could possibly help in the future to improve my writing.

      Today in class we did a Newsela assignment on pros and cons of the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a fire drill and we lost some class time. The lesson today taught me about different reasons for standing for the pledge and reasons for not standing. Both sides have their reasons and it's important to remember that standing for the pledge is not mandatory in the U.S. I had a good time in class and learned something new.
