What I did over break

Over break I was extremely sick. I stayed home the entire week except for my brother's birthday. We went to Dave and Busters while I was unwell because his birthday is immutable. Not only did I have a common cold, but I also had an eye infection that impaired my vision. My sickness was to the point where it was imperative that I went to see a doctor. On the last day of break I made plans with friends however  I was impecunious. I importuned my older sister to lend me some money but she refused. In class we worked on a comic strip with our vocab words.

My Biggest Strength as A Speaker

My biggest strength as a speaker is making eye contact with the audience. I have no problem looking at the audience. However, I do have trouble talking to the speaker naturally. I usually read from the presentation word for word. Sometimes I even get a little nervous and begin speaking softer. It's something I can work on for sure.

A time when I took a hiatus.

I once took a hiatus from my sport. I played soccer and enjoyed it. But eventually, it became more of a task than a hobby for me. I had to constantly keep putting in effort to compete and was no longer enjoying playing. I couldn´t handle the competition so I took a hiatus. I came back to the sport a few months later with a new outlook on it. I no longer took it as a sport I was forced to play and be good at but instead just something I could do for fun or to get away. In class we copied some vocabulary words and did a worksheet on the new vocab.  I expanded my vocab today and learned new words that I can use on future writing assignments.

A time when I had to rely on someone else.

I once had a math test coming up and had barely studied. I didn't really understand the topic and I was falling behind. There wasn't much time left so I asked my older sister for help. She reluctantly agreed and walked me through the practice questions. After practicing for a while I finally understood how to do the problems on my own. I ended up passing the test and it was all thanks to her. In class today we read chapters 14 and 15 of A Lesson Before Dying and answered some discussion questions regarding it. The chapters taught me the importance of having people that support you.

My Holiday Break

Over the break I spent a lot of time at home with my family. I didn't do much but I still enjoyed the time off.  In 2025 I want all A's and B's. This is because I want to improve my GPA. Another goal I want to achieve is to apply to colleges. I want a higher education after I graduate. I also want to get a job so that I can buy the things I want to buy. I want to start saving money but not for anything in particular, just to save. And lastly, I want to learn how to speak spanish fluently because my spanish currently is really hard to understand.

Something I've Always Been Curious About.

I have always been curious about what happens after you die. I do believe in God however sometimes I have a hard time believing. If God does not exist I wonder what happens when you pass. It's scary for me to think about. It's even worse knowing that I'll never get the answer until I die. Today was a short class so we worked on our blog.

The best gift I have received

The best gift I ever received was an Xbox for my birthday last year. It was from my older brother. I always used his console so he decided he would get me one too. I use it every day now which is why it's the best gift I have received. Today in class we read chapters 6-7 of A Lesson Before Dying. I learned about dying with dignity. I will use this lesson to remember to always have self-respect.
